10 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | SEPTEMBER 2022
By Theresa Rossetti, Resident
Our July meeting was a departure from our usual meetings. Our Community Blast and Sue's Blast were used to invite the entire community
to enjoy the talk by Penny Alverson from Armstrong Garden Center in Temecula. Penny has spoken at SDV before and is always informative
and entertaining. She brought a selection of drought-tolerant plants for us to see as well as information on fertilizers and soil and how best
to use them. A few attendees were the lucky recipients of a few of the items she displayed.

The community's Quilting Club has been
supporting the ChildHelp Village in Beaumont by
donating charity quilts throughout the years. The
Beaumont Village is a temporary housing facility for
abused children ranging in age from 6 to 14.
This past May, the Community Relations
Coordinator, Sheri Bogh, attended the monthly
Friendship Quilters' meeting and gave a heartfelt
presentation on the history of the Village and the
current guidelines. Currently, the facility is under
reconstruction and has 64-beds; previously it was an
84-bed facility. Sheri was presented with 23 charity
quilts, two doll quilts, one suitcase, and birthday
party supplies by the membership.
If anyone is interested in donating twin size quilts
to the ChildHelp program, please contact Irene
Cianfarani @ irenecianf1@gmail.com or Ann Lontz
@ twlontz@gmail.com.
