Sewing Club
Exciting news in the Sewing, etc. room! Arriving shortly is a "new to us" wool
felting machine. The Kneedlers and Hookers had a free class several months
back learning the wool felting process. This machine makes the process easier
and is being donated to our club. We're excited to be looking forward to future
projects!
Thurs., Sept. 19 at 9:30 am our free monthly class will be making a small
mesh zipper bag. It's a quick, easy project to enhance your organizational
efforts. Come and craft, or just observe and visit! If you are interested, please
contact Sharon Kleven (760) 345-7735 for a list of necessary supplies.
The pictures are from past classes and projects. The "before" and "after"
of the felted wool hat is before and after the wool hat was washed! Sort of
amazing! The children's vests were made by several members and given to the
Camp Pendleton Adventure Club. Patches that the children earn will be applied
to the vests.
The Kneedlers and Hookers gather on Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:30 pm, where
you can pick up a new skill, share, or visit. Also, on Tuesday evenings (6 to
8 pm) and Fridays (12 to 3 pm) several quilters, crocheters and sewers get
together for "Sew & Chats." Both of these gatherings are loosely structured and
tend to keep us in touch… there's always something to laugh about!
Our meetings are the first Thursday of every month at 9:30 am in the Lamia
Room. They last just about an hour and there's always the fun of show and tell!
If you are interested in participating in our activities please call Chris Sanderson
(858) 442-1834, or MaryLu Belisle (952) 454-1931 for more information. Also,
please visit our website, lovingly updated by Terri Eckhardt, http://ohccsewing.
