| LIFE IN SOLERA | OCTOBER 2022 | 21 This is a weekly group made up of generally men, but women are always welcome. Our focus is on conversation and friendship. We meet every Wednesday in the Clubhouse between 8 and 9 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. It is typically a group of 10 to 20 people. The group is led by a facilitator who ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to talk and encourages conversation. We have very interesting and diverse conversations. There are countless benefits you'll enjoy by joining this group, and they can vary from person to person. For more information about The Coffee Group, please contact George Vawter at (909) 253-3318 or via email hbwisenheimer1@ yahoo.com. Come and check us out, and feel free to bring your favorite coffee mug! COFFEE GROUP BON APPETIT CLUB Our September Ice Cream Social was a huge success. What fun the more than 50 members and guests had indulging in ice cream sundaes. A big thank you to Lane and Sandi Joel for introducing us to the Yonanas non-dairy frozen soft serve dessert maker. Samples were provided for all to enjoy. Lane also talked about the Cusinart ice cream/yogurt maker that was one of our raffle gifts. At our Oct. 7 meeting we will have Zach Thorp from Lot22 Olive Oil Company. He will talk about the different types of olive oils and vinegars and their uses. Members will be able to purchase items at the end of the meeting. Tickets for our holiday luncheon will be on sale at our Oct. 7 meeting. This luncheon is for members only and their spouse or significant other. It will be held at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club which is located at 33725 Chapman Heights Road, Yucaipa. You will have a choice of one of three entrees. The choices will be Mediterranean chicken breast, vegetable lasagna or Atlantic salmon. You will make that choice when you purchase your ticket. Once again, if anyone is interested in running for the Board please notify Louise Sesto at (951) 267-3770 or email her at louisesesto@ gmail.com. Elections will take place on Nov. 4 at our annual meeting. See you Oct. 7. All the best from Bon Appetit. ~ Louise Sesto, President, Pam Davidson, Vice President, Bianca Ralston, Secretary, Mary Puchalski, Treasurer In September, Members enjoyed our "Wine Tasting Party." Shawn from Gerrard's Market in Redlands provided a variety of nine featured wines for tasting ranging from a Bubbly to White and Red wines. Unfortunately, our October Sunday Brunch has been canceled due to a serious health issue with our Caterer, Tony Directo. Tony has catered many of our events over the years and we will certainly miss his outstanding food and cheerful manner. Our new October event will be a "Casual Evening." This event on Oct. 8 will feature a baked potato bar with a choice of fillings provided by Thomas Catering. This event is certain to be something special so watch for more information and plan to sign up early. Information about upcoming Solera Sippers events, membership guidelines and application are available at the Solera Sippers web page on the Solera Oak Valley Greens website. You can access the web page by going to the "Recreation" heading and then under "Clubs and Groups." Wine Trivia: It takes about three to five years for a grapevine to start bearing fruit that can be made into wine. After that, grapevines can usually bear fruit for another 40 years. For questions about the Solera Sippers please contact Gary Stoh at (951) 845-1981 or via email at garymstoh@aol.com. SOLERA SIPPERS
