8 | LIFE IN SOLERA | OCTOBER 2022 | October is here and the New Resident Welcome Advisory Committee is very busy. In August and September, we presented a total of 16 Welcome books to new residents. Now we are getting ready for our Social Gathering on Wed., Oct. 26 at 6 pm. The "Social Gathering" is open to all Solera Residents. The new residents who registered between April 1 and Sept. 30 will receive a personal invitation mid-October. We are beginning to contact all Clubs/Groups and invite a representative to join us and promote their activities. At 6:45 pm, Marcia Casem will present "Living in a HOA" to the residents. It is very informative, especially if you have not lived in a HOA in the past. Many new residents do not sign up to receive a Welcome book. Those residents are welcomed to join us at this event. If anyone would like to receive a Welcome book, you may ask an ambassador when you arrive, and we will make sure you receive one. Beginning this month there are many activities being planned for the holidays. New residents should look through the articles in Life in Solera, check our Solera website, make sure you are signed up for eBlast notifications, check the bulletin boards, and the flyers in the Mail Room for information. We invite everyone to be active in our community. Join a Club/ Group by contacting a member of the Club/Group, or simply show up. Everyone is welcome. Become a member of an Advisory Committee by completing a Volunteer Interest form (homeowners only); the forms are saved for two years. When there is an opening, the Chairperson of the Committee will review and interview for open positions. If you are a homeowner, you could also run for the Board of Directors. Three new Directors will be voted for in May 2023 to serve a two-year term. You will need to complete a Candidate Form in January, so start thinking about it now. You must be a resident homeowner for one year and in good standing. Thank you to our ambassadors for everything they do in making our new residents feel welcomed to our community. ~ Marcia Casem, Chairperson, New Resident Welcome Advisory Committee Welcome Committee
