MOVIE NIGHTS MOVIE NIGHTS All movies are free and are shown in the Auditorium at 6:30 pm unless otherwise noted. Hearing assist devices will be provided upon request. There will be a limited number of tables provided as well as comfortable chair seating. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks from home; popcorn will be provided. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPEN (2022) Sun., Oct. 2, 6:30 pm. Starring Mark Rylance, Sally Hawkins, Rhys Ifans, Nigel Betts, Jonah Lees. This endearing true tale follows outrageous eccentric Maurice Flitcroft as he chases his dream of becoming a champion golfer, even though he doesn't really know how to play the game. Whatever the challenge, his optimism carries him forward. Maurice operates a crane in a shipyard. He's not the sort of chap who competes for prestigious golf championships, but he desperately wants to be. Instead of giving up his dream, he manages to bend the rules so he can play in the 1976 British Open Golf Championship Qualifying, becoming a golf legend for playing the worst round in the tournament's history. WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING (2022) Wed., Oct. 12, 7 pm. Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson, David Strathairn. From the best-selling novel comes a captivating mystery. Where the Crawdads Sing tells the story of Kya, an abandoned girl who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" haunted Barkley Cove, isolating the sharp and resilient Kya from her community. Drawn to two young men from town, Kya opens herself to a new and startling world; but when one of them is found dead, she is immediately cast by the community as the main suspect. As the case unfolds, the verdict as to what actually happened becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal the many secrets that lay within the marsh. Wed., Oct. 26, 6:30 pm. Starring Andy Garcia, Gloria Estefan, Adria Arjona, Isabela Merced, Diego Boneta. Father of the Bride is a film about a father, Billy, who must come to terms with his daughter's plans to walk down the aisle. He attempts to manage multiple relationships both personally and professionally while helping his daughter prepare for her marriage. As the ultimate dadzilla, Billy has to learn how to let go of his daughter and accept that she's becoming a woman and is leaving the nest. Billy is traditional and stubborn, which creates plenty of conflicts within his family unit. His wife is also in the process of ending their marriage, but the engagement news is announced before Billy and his wife, Ingrid, can share the news of their divorce. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962) Sun., Oct. 30, 6:30 pm. Starring Peter O'Toole, Alec Guinness, Anthony Quinn, Omar Sharif, Jack Hawkins. Lawrence of Arabia is a 1962 British epic historical drama film based on the life of T. E. Lawrence and his 1926 book, Seven Pillars of Wisdom. It was directed by David Lean and produced by Sam Spiegel, through his British company Horizon Pictures, and distributed by Columbia Pictures.
