| THE COLONY NEWS | OCTOBER 2022 | 39 Actors Studio By Marsha Tobolski, 562-244-9223 Players eater By Gloria Carroll Hopefully, by the time this article appears in The Colony News we will have finished the casting of our February 2023 production. Now the real fun begins! We are still actively looking for understudies for members of our cast. For those of you who are not acquainted with understudies, they are people who would step up for an actor who for some reason is unable to participate in the show. These are very important roles for the success of our play, for without them, if an actor cannot participate, the show would be seriously jeopardized and could perhaps be canceled. An understudy could memorize lines for more than one role while also be involved in some other aspect of the production in their spare time. We are also looking for technical support (i.e., lighting, sound and curtain operators), behind the curtain positions, artistic people who would like to design posters, tickets and programs, publicity and marketing positions, assistance in selling tickets, greeters at the door the night(s) of the production, makeup assistance and hairdressers. I'm sure I have not listed all the extra people or their duties who will be needed. Rehearsals will not begin until after the Players Theater shows in October, but then it will be full speed and lots of fun ahead toward successful productions over the weekend before Valentine's Day. That will give us a little over three months to produce our show. Beginning the end of October, we will use our workshops on the second and fourth Thursday from 3 to 5 pm in the Annex primarily for rehearsals, but also to discuss and plan for what other than the play itself is needed to produce it. So please join us at our next workshop. We need and welcome any of you to participate in this fun theater adventure! Questions? Feel free to contact me, Greg Hill 951-526-9896, Ron Rodarte 951-813-5700, Chuck Gordon 661-714-3847 or Dona Wurzel 760-519-6475. Lights! Camera! Action!
