24 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2022 | It was downright joyful to gather in September as a group again. I think having women friends later in life is even more important than when we were younger. We are kinder and don't need to be right all the time. Come and let your breath out and discover new women as friends. We need each other in these crazy times. We are so excited to announce our new "Day at the Fair" date. Join us Oct. 13, from 2 to 4 in the afternoon. Our resident artist, Judy Munshower, will paint a flower on you. There will be balloons, a petting zoo, ice cream, Carmie's special baked goodies and a few games. Our FS Garden Club and Quilt Club will be there as well. The raffle prizes are awesome. Let's face it, it was way too hot to attend a Fair in September. So mark your calendar and come on down. Debbie Foster, (805-406-6581), our president, welcomes telephone calls with any questions about our club. The most asked question is, "when do you meet?" The fourth Monday of each month, at 2 pm, in the Ballroom. All Four Seasons Ladies are invited. Come for lunch before the meeting. Let Cookie know you're coming and she'll reserve a larger table! We planned activities for September to beat the heat. Early September found us at the Regal Theater to see a movie of your choice. Air conditioned and your feet up… a great afternoon! We meet at Panera afterwards. The end of the month we stayed in Four Seasons for a day of game playing. Once again, air conditioned and fun. The Old Town Temecula Theater has wonderful plays and is close to home. Lucille Gould will be watching which plays are available for us. As soon as we know themes and dates, we'll vote on attendance. We are planning our Christmas luncheon. It will be held at a local restaurant on Dec. 6. Join before then. We love the holidays. Members of our club can join us on our outings. No guests please. You can be a one- time guest at our monthly meetings. To be a member, you pay your yearly dues and come to our monthly meetings when possible. Until next month, Cookie FS Ladies Club Needle Me Cooler weather is just around the corner (I hope!). With that in mind, it's a good time to think about knitting or crocheting up some nice lap afghans or shawls to help keep us nice and toasty. Keeping that in mind, if you don't happen to need these items for yourself or to use as gifts, you might consider making some to donate. As I mentioned a few months ago, the Riverside University Health Systems palliative care department would be more than happy to receive some of these items to help keep the patients warm. Needle Me is a fun group of ladies who enjoy working on many different needle crafts, while also enjoying each other. Some of the ladies have recently mentioned that they would like to learn, or brush up on, crocheting. As they wrap up current projects they are working on and with cooler weather around the corner, we plan to do some instructing to help with that. If you are interested in trying a needlecraft like crochet, knitting, embroidery, cross stitch, or applique, or perhaps teach us something new, please stop by one of our meetings. We meet on the first and fourth Friday of each month in the Arts & Crafts Room at 1 pm. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or Merilyn Burnside at (951) 658-8310. TGIF/Karaoke Come and enjoy an evening of dinner, raffle, dancing, and karaoke for those of us who like to sing. Join us in the Ballroom on Sept. 2. Social hour starts at 5 pm, dinner is at 5:30 pm. The raffle will be held at 6:30 pm and Karaoke and dancing will follow. Bring a dish to share for 8–10, your own utensils, dishes and beverage of choice. If you are concerned about sharing the buffet, you may bring your own dinner. All residents are welcome and this is a great way to meet new friends the first Friday of every month. Book Club The Book Club will be on hiatus during the month of October. Any questions, contact Vicki Allen-Hitt at (951) 926-6336 or vhitt@hotmail.com.
