56 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2022 If I said the word "HOT" would you know what I'm talking about? Of course you do. It has been just short of unbearably HOT, but we crazy guys kept right on playing through it. With our quarterly tournaments coming up this month, we are looking for a break in the heat and some fall weather showing up. Along with our quarterly tournaments, we also have a special evening which includes dinner at the Kopper Kettle followed by dessert and other activities at a member's home. Last quarter, we had an enjoyable evening at Barbara and Dave Thomason's home. A big thank you to them! These types of social activities with the spouses being involved is what makes our club so special and inviting to others. So, for this country boy, I am looking forward to fall… falling leaves, fall colors, pumpkin spice, and the cooler weather. Come out and join us! You will like and enjoy it as much as we do. We meet every Wednesday morning at 8 am (9 am in the winter) at The Summit. Our contacts are Ron Erickson at (626) 297-4597, rejlerickson@sbcglobal.net or Gary Christie at (951) 845-0520, goldtoy@earthlink.net. ~ Ron Erikson Horseshoe Club Bocce Club The Bocce Ball Club plays at The Summit on two courts overlooking the surrounding valley. We play on Tuesday and Fridays at 8 am. Hopefully when you read this, the weather will have cooled off. When the weather is hot, we try to finish by 9:30 am before the heat sets in. Umbrellas help a little with the heat. All are welcome to join us and have some fun with a great group of people. If you are interested in learning the game, please join us. Any questions? Contact me at hanknegrete16@yahoo.com or call or text (909)747- 7087. ~ Hank Negrete Ladies Putters Come and experience putting at The Courts on Monday at 4 pm and Friday at 9 am. If you would like to try us out, we have putters and balls. We enjoy each other's company while putting for about 45 minutes. Hope to see you there. ~ Susan Wilson, sw072153@aol.com Fishing Club The only thing I can say is I am getting old. I went fishing three times in September and did not catch a fish. If my life depended on catching fish, I would have been dead a long time ago. The heat can be deadly when you are on the lake bank fishing. I was sick for two days after my summer fishing trips. When you get to be 70 years old, your body cannot take extreme weather conditions. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. The weather should cool down and I will be ready to catch some nice trout. All the lakes around here should start stocking trout this month. I have a friend who bought a ranch in Wyoming. He said a river runs through his ranch. He also bought a bass boat and invited me to go fishing with him. You will never guess where I am going fishing this month. Tight lines to all my fishing friends and remember to take it easy when you are catching fish. ~ Richard Carrasco, ricarrasco52@gmail.com Current fishing situation
