FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2022 9 By Jerry Monahan, Board President The Pass Action Group (PAG) has attended 11 months of planning commission meetings, city council meetings, attorney consultations, and many planning sessions as the fight against the Banning Point Warehouse Development continues to move forward. The Board of Directors of the PAG has greatly appreciated the support of the residents of Sun Lakes, as well as the support received from the surrounding communities. Hopefully, many of you attended the Town Hall meeting at Sun Lakes and heard the information provided by the PAG lawyer Kevin Bundy. By the time the Breeze is published in October, the PAG should have received the Administrative Record on their case from the city of Banning and the developers. The information in the Administrative Record that will be received from the city of Banning and the developer are related to the case currently being prepared by the PAG and their law firm, Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger LLP. The attorneys for PAG will review the documents with the PAG Legal Committee and confirm all related materials have been received. The next steps in the process should be: • The city of Banning will certify the record after reviews. • The PAG team will submit an opening brief to the court. • The city of Banning and the developers will file an opposition brief. • The PAG Team then will submit a reply brief to the court. • The judge assigned to the case, Judge Craig Reimer, will set a hearing date. As you can see, there are many procedures to follow and this will take months before all parties involved get to a hearing. For more information, contact passactiongroup2022@gmail.com. If you want to make an online donation to the PAG go to www. givebutter.com/passactiongroupbanning, or make checks payable to the Pass Action Group, 4832 Crenshaw Circle, Banning, CA 92220. The Beaumont City Summit Station Industrial Project has still not been reviewed by the Beaumont City Council. It is projected to be on the City Council's Agenda in October in spite of the Planning Commission's 4–1 no vote. There are several things we can do as residents of Beaumont and the Pass Area to show the city council of our disapproval of this warehouse project. • Send an email to your neighbors and friends and ask them to email their friends and have them send an email to the city council showing that you oppose the warehouse. These emails will be read into the record showing the opposition to the Summit Station Industrial Project. Send emails to ctaylor@beaumont.gov, and include "Beaumont Summit Station" in the subject line. • Consider speaking at the council meeting (time limit for speaking is three minutes per person). • Attend the council meeting even if you do not wish to speak so the council members can see how many residents are opposed to this project and are willing to be counted in opposition of the Beaumont City Summit Station Industrial Project. It is not too late to have our voices heard. Please send your emails, speak at the city council meeting, or attend the meeting to show opposition to the project. This is important to our future. We will keep you apprised of the date this issue will be heard on our Daily Report so you can make plans in advance. Thank you for your support.
