There will be meetings every month for the rest of this year. They will be on the first Monday each month at 1 pm (the afternoon of course) in the Sun Lakes Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room, though during the meeting, there will be only one purpose and that is writing. Actually, there will be reading as well since the group reads projects they have been working on. That's what we do during our meetings. Once you've read your piece, you will receive a standing ovation and a shouted "Atta boy!" (or girl). Along, naturally, with a critique or suggestions. Meetings are a free-for-all of assorted topics. Why in October you might have a personal take on Halloween? Maybe how you went begging for candy while dressed in a homemade costume that your mother helped you with. Or look ahead to Thanksgiving and write about a turkey who was laughed at by his friends because he was getting too fat, but had the last laugh as he was invited to dinner with his farmer's family. And there is still time to write a Christmas epic poem where Santa gets lost in a magical loop and keeps bringing toys and presents to the same little boy who found the magic lamp. To reiterate — but first you have to iterate something before you could re it. Meetings: Oct. 3, Monday at 1 pm, Nov. 7, same time, then Dec. 5. If you like to write anything from grocery lists, letters from camp, memories you want to save for your family, the list goes on, then just be there or be square.
