28 | OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2022 | Sewing Club Fall is upon us! Crafting and sewing is in the air! Sewing Club isn't just a Sewing Club, our activities also include knitting, crocheting, garment making, and various other projects as we get ideas and interest! If you have a burning desire to make something, let us know! On Oct. 20, our monthly free class will be held at 9:30 am in the Sewing Room. We will be making "kitchen boas." Never heard of them, well it's a really easy project shown in the picture. Our model is Terry Wilson (at left), who had been working hard in the kitchen and was taking a rest. The project involves a tea towel and some fabric and sewing supplies, and would be a great small gift for the upcoming holidays. The Kneedlers and Hookers have taken up a challenge from one of our more talented knitters and been making a beaded, two-part scarf that will be completed soon. It's been a challenge for sure, but pictures will be coming next month! As always, the Kneedlers and Hookers gather on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:30 pm, where you can pick up a new skill, share, or visit. Also, on Tuesday evenings (6 to 8 pm) and Fridays (12 to 3 pm) several quilters, crocheters and sewers get together for "Sew & Chats." Both of these gatherings are loosely structured, and tend to keep us in touch… there's always something to laugh about! Our meetings are the first Thursday of every month at 9:30 am in the Lamia Room. They last just about an hour and there's always the fun of show and tell! Please note: there will be no meeting in October and December.
