LISTEN - CARE - SHARE
By Linda Weiss, Resident
While the ideals behind the 'random acts of kindness' movement
are noble, to live a full and meaningful life, kindness should become
our modus operandi. Rather that squeezing kindness in as another
chore between everyday life activities, why not consider:
Always sending a complimentary note when you've enjoyed a
great experience
Always opening doors or people
Always saying thank you and meaning it
Always making time to spend with people you love
Always smiling at those who serve you in shops and cafes
Be Observant:
Get in the habit of really observing your friends and family and
noticing when they reveal their vulnerabilities or desires. Once you
are tuned in to other people, you will be able to offer help without
the recipient realizing they have asked for it. Even the act of saying
something along the lines of 'I noticed you seemed a bit down the
other evening, please let me know if there's anything you'd like to talk
about,' can be a real balm.
"Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much." ~
Blaise Pascal
