| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2022 | 27 As temperatures begin to cool, one cannot help but to think of wrapping up in the inspiration of love and warmth that only a hand- made quilt can provide. Passed down from generation to generation, many quilters have learned this craft from mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and family members skilled in the art. To this day some still prefer those old fashion, quilt-by-hand techniques, while others (new to the art) navigate to all the bells and whistles a computerized sewing machine introduces. The automation of technology has propelled this centuries old pastime into our modern-day times of breathtaking artistry. From embellished, intricate wall hangings to stylish clothing, no project is beyond the imaginary scope of the Quilter. As diverse as the finished project, so is the creativity of each quilter, illustrating the vast scope of this fascinating hobby. Keeping all things in perspective, one can even utilize the 21st century sewing machine to simply create that old-fashion quilt just to wrap up in and watch the world go by! Last month's article spoke of our birthday celebration for Diane in the Bistro. These photos (above) demonstrate the warmth and love we have for one another as we not only quilt together, we wrap up together in the threads and fabric of friendship. The third photograph is contributed by Member, Janet Swindell who takes 'quilting on the road' while camping in her RV. (Yes, that is a sewing machine set up to the left of her displayed quilt!) Seasons Quilters wishes everyone a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for when we focus on the blessings in our lives. We meet every first and third Thursday in the Arts & Crafts Room from 10 am to 4 pm. For more information about quilting, activities, fun projects and forming forever friendships through this wonderful hobby of quilting, stop by the Arts & Crafts Room and see what's sewing! We would love to meet you. All Four Seasons residents are welcome to meetings and excursions. For more Information, please contact Diane Best at (951) 816- 0449, dianequilts@verizon.net or Sharon Deuber at (760) 500-0077, YouDeserveIt@twc.com. TGIF/Karaoke It's almost time for turkey and lots of trimmings. Let's start the Thanksgiving holiday early with friends and giving thanks for our many blessings in life. Bring your own table setting (plates, silverware and beverage of choice). We will have DJ music for dancing. Bring a neighbor or make new friends.
