18 18 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2022 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2022 | Team Sunshine "Kindness is doing what you can, where you are, with what you have." RAKTIVIST September Kindness Award: In September Team Sunshine recognized one of our own – Marietta Ruppaner. Marietta was especially helpful when Chris Sullivan's son passed away. She assisted Chris with the memorial program and many other aspects of planning a service to honor her son. Chris credited her with helping her through a very sad and stressful time. Congratulations to Marietta. October Kindness Award: Team Sunshine received numerous requests nominating Linda and Rick Adkins for our Kindness Award. Immediately upon learning Rick and Debbie Ruth lost their home in the Fairview Fire, the Adkins extended an invitation to join them in their home for as long as needed. Rick and Debbie gratefully accepted their invite. When presented with the award, Linda and Rick said they only did what they knew many others in our community would have done. They just happened to be the first to reach the Ruths. Thank you Linda and Rick for always being there for our community. We are sure many of you often witness acts of kindness here in our community. When you do, please stop by the front desk at The Lodge and fill out a Kindness card. Sunshine will take it from there and set things in motion to recognize this person or persons. Celebrations of Life: Currently Sunshine has no pending celebrations of life. We attempt to reach as many of our residents as possible when they need comfort or cheering. If you have a neighbor or friend in Four Seasons who may be dealing with a recent injury, or lingering illness; has suffered the loss of a family member or is feeling blue; we ask that you let us know. An unexpected card or phone call can do much to brighten someone's day. Prayer Requests: For those wishing prayer, a request box is provided in the Multipurpose Room. Prayer cards are provided. If you are interested in joining the prayer group, please call Marietta Ruppaner. How to contact Team Sunshine: Caring Connection cards with details of Team Sunshine's services are available at The Lodge. You may also call Co-Chairs Brenda Beers (951-306-6670) or Margie Culton (951-491-4058). Closing Thoughts: "You cannot do kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson "With each sunrise, we are given a chance for a new beginning!"
