| LIFE IN SOLERA | NOVEMBER 2022 | 25 Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I do so appreciate and give thanks for the support you all give to my classes. I love teaching and have been told over and over you love my classes. I hope you had a chance to look at the display case in October to see some of the beautiful and creative cards we've made in the past. Please keep passing the word around and bring your friends. November is my busy month as the 13th Annual Holiday Card Class will be held in the Oakmont Rooms on Sat., Nov. 5 from 9 am to 4 pm. Continental breakfast and lunch are included, as well as welcome gifts and lots of surprises along the way. I started teaching this class at Nancy's Cherry Tree Shoppe and then transferred it here to Solera when we got so big that we could no longer fit in Nancy's space. I am also bringing back my "Once is Not Enough" class which will be held on Thurs., Nov. 3 in the Arts & Crafts Room. I will be bringing all the kits that I have left, and you will be able to make as many cards as you can during our regular time from 1 to 3:30 pm. Cost is still only $10. Each kit will have everything you need to make a beautiful finished card. My completed original card will be on hand for you to see. The third Thursday of the month, Nov. 17 at 1 pm, will be my regular three-card Class in the Arts & Crafts Room. These will be fall colored cards that can be used for Thanksgiving if needed. These are the cards we made in the Oct. 6 class. Please RSVP to my email notification to be sure I have a complete kit for you. I always have a few extra kits for those of you who are new and are just dropping in for the first time! I would love for you to text or give me a call to let me know you are coming at (951) 231-3991 or, email me at scrappinvall@yahoo.com. If this is your first time, please bring small sharp scissors and some fast-drying glue. If you don't have either, I will have supplies on hand to purchase at cost. I love teaching Card Art and the $10 fee per class just covers my supplies. Happy crafting! ~ Vallarie Clegg CARD ART 101 QUILTERS We meet each Monday at 12 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. The quilters enjoyed the annual "blitz" last month. We meet and sew all day with a fun break for lunch. Each meeting introduces new ideas. Claudette demonstrated making a cathedral window Christmas ornament. Sewing machines were humming constructing these unique ornaments. Some of our quilters will be decorating Christmas trees for our Clubhouse. Of course, the theme will be quilted treasures. There are always new tools of the trade shown by our ladies. We love these gadgets that make our quilting more professional. Our ladies continue to make and donate quilts to Pass Patchers Quilt Guild who, in turn, pass them on to charitable organizations. The quilters had a visitor with a camera in October – hopefully there will be something to share in this Life In Solera. We always welcome new quilters. New residents – welcome.
