As this edition of Life in Solera goes to press, the Solera RV Group will be enjoying its first campout at Lake Skinner (Oct. 30th - Nov. 3rd). We have six RV's signed up for this very special camp out. I heard that our wagonmasters (hosts) are planning a very special Halloween themed camp out. Additionally, planning is underway for camp outs at Quartzsite, Arizona, Vail Lake KOA in Temecula and Rancho Jurupa Regional Park in Rubidoux, California. At our September 9th meeting, guest speaker CHP Officer Becerra gave a very informative RV related presentation. Fire extinguisher training in partnership with Cal-Fire Station 66 is being planned for December's meeting, and we also plan to have a local RV repair facility owner give an RV maintenance presentation. The RV group continues to grow, welcoming everyone who has an interest in the recreational vehicle lifestyle. You do not have to own a recreational vehicle to be a part of the RV group, as many campgrounds offer camping cabins or trailers to rent on site. The beauty of the RV lifestyle is that it offers something for everyone; If you love to relax with your favorite beverage, hike, bike, cook, or stargaze, (or four wheelers, golf and playing cards,) this is the group for you. Some camp outs may include short excursions to local attractions, while others may be about relaxing and enjoying nature. Please come to our next meeting and check us out. Refreshments are always served, and you're guaranteed to meet some of the friendliest people in Solera. For more information about the RV group, contact Ron or Debbie Monroe at (909) 732-6139 or email at ronoap@aol.com. | LIFE IN SOLERA | NOVEMBER 2022 | 35 Hey Solera…down on your CHIPS? Up on your LUCK? Then you need to be at the Tuesday Night Poker game. We currently have 20+ players, and all the ladies and gents of our group would like to extend an invitation to you to come. Texas Hold'em is the game played. If you're a "long ago" player or someone interested in learning to play the game, please come one evening. Our group plays every Tuesday and play starts at 4 pm. For more information, please contact Earl Scott at (909) 633-4867. We hope you will come and try your hand at poker. As in life, it is so in poker that sometimes you just need to "GO ALL IN." ~ Cindy B. Mondays from 2 to 4 pm in Solera just got more exciting! We now have a Rummikub group that has been meeting in the Oakmont Room, and is open to all. Rummikub is much like your childhood card game of Rummy, only it's played with tiles instead of cards. Research shows that social interaction and playing table games are both good for the brain. No previous experience in playing Rummikub is required, as we are happy to teach newcomers and have take-home copies of the rules. If you are already a player, perhaps you could teach us a thing or two! We look forward to having you join in the fun. If you have any questions please call Victoria at (928) 864-8223 or Connie at (909) 801-9238. SOLERA RV GROUP TUESDAY NIGHT POKER RUMMIKUB
