38 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2022
Four Seasons
Veterans Park
The Veterans Park tree for the Space Force is planted.
The Space Force has approved their official service
song:
We're the mighty watchful eye,
Guardians beyond the blue,
The invisible front line,
Warfighters brave and true.
Boldly reaching into space,
There's no limit to our sky.
Standing guard both night and day,
We're the Space Force from on high.
On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, there will be a Twilight
Tribute at the park at 1600 (4 pm) for Veterans and
their supporters. The Tribute will be an hour of
patriotic songs sung by our own karaoke singers.
Bring a folding chair and enjoy the music.
Flag venues for November are: American Landmarks
and decorated Christmas Trees to get us "in the mood."

USS Iowa departs San Francisco to retirement in Los Angeles.
The Golden Gate bridge is named for the Golden Gate Strait, the narrow stretch of
water linking the San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean. As for the strait, its name
predates the Gold Rush. In 1946, John C. Fremont saw the watery trench and was
reminded of the Golden Horn of the Bosporus in Constantinople (now Istanbul).
He used a Greek term to name it: Chrysopylae, in English, Golden Gate. The
bridge was painted an orange vermilion, dubbed "International Orange," prior to its
opening in 1937 because the color stands out against the sea, land, and seasonal fog.
