FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2022 43 Our Oct. 1 Cars and Coffee was a huge success with over 25 beautiful cars and their owners show up. The weather was perfect. We had a few new attendees with their "bitchin" rides. Ray and Kathy Frydendall and Grandson Carson showed up with their absolutely stunning black 2005 Porsche 911/997 Carrera. Ray and Kathy have owned their Porsche for two months, after acquiring it from their son. It is powered by a 3.6 liter flat six engine producing a powerful 325 horse power. Ray and Kathy have lived in Four Seasons for a little over a year. Joe and Dianne Martinez arrived with their classic and very original Tan 1962 VW Bug. They have always owned VWs and say that they are fun to drive. Joe and Dianne have lived in Four Seasons for five years. The Veterans Car, Motorcycle, and 4x4 show is fast approaching; the planning stages and vehicle registration is in high gear. Here are some of the important facts of the show. The show is Saturday, Nov. 12, in The Lodge parking lot, from 10 am to 2 pm. Entrant staging starts at 9 am. Day of show registration is $20 (no t-shirt or goodie bag). Spectators are encouraged to spend as much time as they wish looking at the great looking cars, trucks, and motorcycles that will be on display. Spectators will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite vehicle which will be awarded the People's Choice Award. There will be raffles through out the event with a grand prize of a patriotic handmade quilt donated by Mary Moody Cox and the Four Seasons Quilting Enthusiasts Club. A food truck will be on hand and a DJ will play some great tunes. There will be a special tribute to all Four Seasons Veterans. So please mark this day on your calendar and we will see you there! For additional information, please contact myself or Rick. I sometimes receive emails or texts from some of our residents asking what criteria is required to join or attend one of our monthly gatherings. There are no criteria and you don't even have to own a car — just show up and start mingling with car owners and other spectators. We hope to see you there. Here is a brief description from Amazon.com: "A poignant and beautiful debut novel explores a man's quest to unravel the mystery of his wife's death with the help of the only witness — their Rhodesian ridgeback, Lorelei." Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 am in the RCN Room 3, and someone volunteers to lead the discussion about the book we have chosen for the month.
