28 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2022 Finance Committee The 2023 budget process is under way. The Finance Committee budget group and the Board Liaisons held a budget workshop in early October to discuss expenditures for the budget proposal. An additional meeting was held with the entire Board and Finance Committee to finalize the numbers. The 2023 Budget Proposal will be heard at the Board General Session Meeting in November. This will include planned expenditures and recommended monthly dues for each cost center. During our September meeting, the financial statements for August 2022 were reviewed and recommended for Board approval. In addition, the Committee reviewed nine expenditure proposals, and reviewed investment recommendations to move maturing investments to higher yield FDIC insured instruments. Highlights of the August financial statement are: Total Cash is $11,541,690 including operating cash of $2,196,202 (checking and CDs) and reserve assets of $9,345,488. We are at a total year-to-date net income of $80,836. Homeowners are welcome to join us at the Finance Committee's regularly scheduled monthly meetings held on the last Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 1 pm. I would encourage all residents to become more familiar with the finances of our fantastic community. We would love to hear about your concerns and encourage you to share them with us. Attending a meeting only takes a little time and will give you a better understanding of how we operate. Come and join us in making this a thriving vibrant community. Please check the Daily Report for meeting location. ~ Jolene Cooley, joleneaudit@gmail.com Social Committee Our next event, the biggest of the year, is New Year's Eve! Yes, that's right - we are having a New Year's Eve Party on Dec. 31. The theme is Red Razzle Dazzle so bring in the new year by wearing something red. Tickets sales are Nov. 28 at 9 am in the Ballroom. Tickets are expected to sell out and any remaining tickets will be available to non-residents on Dec. 21 in The Lodge lobby. Tickets for the event are $65 per person (non refundable). Doors open at 6:15 pm and champagne will be served until dinner, which starts at 7 pm. Bring your favorite beverage. Ann Taylor is our caterer this year. She also caterers the Wine club Christmas party. There will be appetizers, salads, a main course, dessert, coffee, and water. There will be a free photo booth, so get your friends together and get your photos taken. We will also have games, contests, and lots of dancing. Tony Zambrana will be our DJ for the night. He is an energetic master of ceremonies and disc jockey who loves to engage with all of our residents and guests. There will be free party favors and five raffle prizes, so please bring extra cash to help with our fundraiser for our next event. So put on your red dress and the snappiest suit and come party with us. I look forward to seeing you all there. The Social Committee really appreciates all of your support. We wish everyone a happy and peaceful holiday season. ~ Loretta Ramsey, lorettaramsey@aol.com, (714) 803-6744 Facilities Committee At our last meeting, we voted to approve a proposal from Dave Foster Concrete Coating. The proposal is for the front entry area of The Lodge. We rejected a proposal for a new marked crosswalk from Trail C to Veterans Park due to cost of over $8,000. We are continuing to look at areas of need for the upcoming 2023 budget. The Facilities Committee is in need of new volunteers. If you are interested, please contact me or attend our next meeting. We meet the second Wednesday of the month at 9 am. ~ Gino Domico, Gdomico@gmail.com
