This imaginative, heartwarming classic tells of the eerie encounters of Ebenezer Scrooge, an arrogant and insensitive miser whose ghostly journeys through the past, present, and future provide glimpses of his life as a schoolboy, apprentice, and young lover. His visions ultimately transform him into a generous and caring individual - loving all and by all beloved. This readers-theater version of the season classic will be performed in the North Clubhouse. Ticket reservations ($10 pp) are available on our website and in the Main Clubhouse lobby from Dec. 7 to Dec. 9, 9 am to 2 pm. The duo is comprised of singer- songwriters AJ Swearingen and Jayne Kelli. This husband and wife team is steeped in the sounds of Americana and country-folk. Their rich harmonies and character voices are a modern echo of the singer- songwriters of the 60s and 70s. Swearingen and Kelli recreate the music, memories and magic of the most famous folk-rock duo of our time, Simon and Garfunkel. AJ has been performing this music for 20 years with mastery of Paul Simon's intricate guitar playing. His deep baritone blends perfectly with Jayne's angelic vocals. They deliver a true tribute to the sound of the 60s Greenwich Village coffeehouse performances. Sun Lakes residents are invited to join the Friendship Club and be entertained by Vegas-style entertainment right here, up close and personal. The membership fee is $25 per person for the rest of 2022 and all of 2023. Tickets for this last show of the year are $20 for members and $25 for non-resident guests. Doors open at 6 pm with open seating, and the show begins at 7 pm. Make checks out to Friendship Club, and drop them off at 5168 Rio Bravo Drive.
