On Sept. 18, the Pass Action Group held a Town Hall in the Sun
Lakes Ballroom. At this meeting, we heard from your lawyer, Mr.
Kevin Bundy. Mr. Bundy outlined our case for the audience and
those watching from home. This meeting was attended by over 300
people from throughout Banning and Beaumont, not only Sun Lakes
residents.
Despite some unfortunate "technical difficulties," we were able to
hear firsthand from Mr. Bundy. He explained that we have received
the "administrative record" from the city of Banning. This record is
all information related to the proposed Banning Point project.
In addition, Mr. Bundy stated that there was a status conference
with the Judge, the honorable Craig Riemer, scheduled for Sept.
30. That has now been changed to Oct. 25. He stated that the brief
process should begin by the end of the year leading up to a hearing.
After briefs are completed (this is a multi-tiered process), the
hearing in front of Judge Riemer will most likely take place in spring
of 2023.
By the time this publication is distributed, we will have held a
Fiesta FUNraiser on Oct. 24. A taco bar, entertainment, raffles, and
auction were enjoyed by all. This event for approximately 100 people
sold out very rapidly. We will be doing further fundraising events in
the future.
The Pass Action Group Board of Directors continues to meet
weekly to address issues as they come up. The Board of Directors,
through our legal committee, continues to assist the law firm in any
way we can.
We continue to raise funds for legal and other necessary expenses.
