16 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2022 | Sun Lakes Committee Reports Greetings to all! It's November and this month we will honor and celebrate our bravest citizens on Veterans Day and give thanks for all we have on Thanksgiving Day. The Bingo Advisory Committee is proud to announce we will again support the Sun Lakes 11th Annual Veterans Day Walk event sponsored by the Recreation Department on Nov. 12 with a donation of $3,000. This event is a very worthy cause and everyone in our community needs to support this effort. Mark your calendars! Our game nights this month are November 8, 15, 22 and 29. Bingo will be dark for the month of December due to all the holiday events happening in the Ballroom. The restaurant and bar are open on Tuesday evenings. Thomas and Chef Chris are providing wonderful and very popular entrees each week for bingo guests. Only SL member cards or CC are accepted for food and drinks. Bring all your friends and neighbors, everyone is welcome. We play 12 regular and three special games and guests can play all 15 games for as little as $7 for the whole evening. Many cash prizes and door prizes are won each week. Remember cash only - no checks or credit cards. Doors open at 4:30 pm, games start at 6 pm and games are over by 8:45 pm. Come and be part of the fun. Bingo Advisory Recreation Advisory I have hereby given 2022 a name for the year here in Sun Lakes. How about "The Coming Out Of Sun Lakes Residents?" Honestly, it has been so grand seeing our clubhouses full of people attending the events offered to them and enjoying the Restaurant. There are still plenty of things to coax you out the door coming up, including the Pumpkin Pie Social with pumpkin pie and coffee and the 11th Annual Veterans Walk, which benefits Veterans right here in our community administered by Veterans Post #233. December kicks off with the Annual District Tree Lighting on Dec. 1, when all of the beautifully decorated Christmas Trees will be lit up. It's a full evening to begin the holiday season. There will be hot fall drinks, cookies, and entertainment. The Riverside Concert Band will be here to entrance us with their beautiful music on Dec. 18 in our Main Clubhouse. Keep a close watch for what event tickets are on sale right now. We are also looking forward to our annual New Year's Eve Celebration, a night of good food, dancing, and lots of fun. This event will be a lottery. See the Recreation Director, Kara's, events in this month's Lifestyles for the details. I do hope that all of you who love to travel are communicating with our three travel companies. The holidays are upon us. Speaking of which, our Main Clubhouse Decoration Committee is always looking for helping hands. You can help with one event or more. Please call me. ~ Patricia Elevi, (951) 850-3900
