To perform well, our pool balls and tables need to be
cleaned regularly. Our seven tables have 117 balls and
250 square feet of cloth. Pool uses 16 balls; Snooker uses
21. Members of the Billiard Club do this cleaning so the
equipment will be in good condition for everyone.
This work is done by "Table Captains," club members
who volunteer to
adopt one table and
take care of it. Every
few weeks they
vacuum their table's
cloth and clean their
balls in our ball
washing machine.
Did you know there
was such a thing as
a pool ball washing
machine? Here's a picture of it, loaded with eight balls
ready to be cleaned.
Below are the Table Captains and their table numbers.
Next time you see one of them, give them a big "Thank You"
for working behind the scenes all year long for the rest of
us.
