We're looking forward to seeing our family, friends, and neighbors at our Holiday Concert on Dec. 11 at 2 pm. When we join their voices together in song it is moving and magical. Every week, we do just that, and what a joy it is to breathe and sing in harmony and to hear the music taking shape. If you love to sing, consider joining us for our next concert in May 2023. Rehearsals begin the first Thursday of February. Live music blesses humanity and unifies the universe. A few shout outs are in order... to the Choral Society Concert Committee that brought us our first ever "Local Artist Concert Series" and also to our Audio/Visual team that supported each event. We are so lucky to have this extraordinary team in our community. They truly are the unsung heroes of Ocean Hills. 12 | OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2022 | OHSPA Ocean Hills Society for The Performing Arts last concert for the year is Sat., Nov. 5 in Abravanel Hall. This group consists of The Coasters, The Diamonds and The Drifters. They are accompanied by Billy and the Corvettes Band and if you have not heard about them, they are the number one Doo Wop band! The last original member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Group The Coasters, Leon Hughes performs with his group the #1 hits such as: Yakety Yak, Charlie Brown, Searchin', Youngblood and more. The Diamonds are famous for Little Darlin, The Stroll, Why Do Fools Fall In Love and One Summer Night among others. Big thanks go out to director, Trish Collins. We are grateful to the following individuals who so ably assisted: Lois Powazek (producer), the entire A/V Committee (especially Myrna Weber), Rick Thatcher, John Lasser and Janie Arens (sets), Gail Hyams, Callie Dean, and Joann Bush (stage managers/backstage). Thank you all so very much. The Encore Players, directed by Sally Benton, will be presenting an evening of theatre and music called Memories on Nov. 15, at 7 pm in Abravanel Hall.
