something is considered or evaluated: STANDPOINT
I have never thought about the word perspective until I became a
member of the Board. We have had many discussions on different
subjects with many different ideas and opinions on how to resolve
an issue. I have also noticed that there are many residents that feel
things are not done in the community the way they feel they should
be done. I believe this comes from everyone's different perspective.
I have come to the conclusion that a person's perspective is
developed during their lifetime. I think it is established in many
ways, from the influence of things around them, from their education,
their profession, their lifestyle, to their own parents' opinions. All the
things they were exposed to that they learned while growing up, even
including the environment around them helped them form their
own individual perspective or opinions if you prefer to call it.
With this being said, I believe one can come to the conclusion that
there is not always a right or wrong way of doing things. One has to
consider the best way for the majority. Other people's Perspective
may not be your Perspective but that doesn't mean it is wrong, just
different. We live in an environment where we need to listen to
one another, help one another, respect each other's perspective and
get along in a neighborly fashion. We don't need to agree with one
another to remain friends.
What is your Perspective?
