Happy holidays to all! The season of cheer is upon us. The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) sends good tidings to all. Exterior holiday décor is NOT subject to review by the ARC. Have fun, express your creativity, and enjoy your homes during this season of good will and spirituality. Holiday décor is allowed for a period of 30 days prior to the holiday to 30 days following the holiday. We send our best wishes to all for a lovely season of lights, color, and contemplation. And Happy New Year - 2023 will be upon us soon. 8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2022 | All the actions of the fall are behind us. Baseball had given way to critical football games of its season, and basketball and hockey is beginning its play. The holiday season has begun as evidenced by the wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and the all-important accompaniment of sides. Winter solstice is a month way but this too marks the holiday events that we all need to pay attention. At Four Seasons we have the Hometown Holiday Magic, the Holiday Luncheon, and of course, the New Year's Eve Celebration to welcome 2023. As of this writing, tickets may still be available for the latter two events. The year 2023 will be an active time at Four Seasons. Here is a look of things to come, a preview. Get your mask together, because February highlights a Mardi Gras Party. Canceled last year but coming up is the exciting Cinco de Mayo, followed by the honored July 4th Observance. Casino Night returns in September; and, final arrangements are being confirmed for a "tribute" concert in October. These social committee events are sparkles of the myriad events that take place at Four Seasons. They are sprinkled in with the numerous events put together by Four Seasons Activities Director, Tracie Rodgers, and include Music on the Plaza, Comedy Night, and Movie Nights to mention a few. Other sparkles include the clubs and organizations that sponsor events such as Martin Luther King Celebration, Karaoke, TGIF, and Juneteenth. Team Sunshine, Pickle Ball, the Golf Clubs, and other clubs (which I may have failed to mention) and groups sponsor many potlucks or BBQs that make it easy not to cook three days out of a week and still get an eclectic and diverse meal while sitting with friends. It seems that after a season of competition, such as Bocce Ball and Corn Hole, there is always a reason to celebrate by sharing a meal. And that is what makes it fun. Enjoy what remains of 2022 because 2023 will be better. Happy holidays! Social Committee Facilities Committee The year 2022 was very challenging for the Facilities Committee. COVID limited our activities but the committee was still able to continue serving the community through Zoom meetings. The committee resumed in-person meetings in February. Needed products were in short supply so the committee looked at alternate ways to accomplish the needed repairs. Many products have increased in price due to rising inflation. Some of the projects undertaken by the Facilities Committee for 2022 include: • Parking lot light standards painted • Pool tables recovered with new felt and bumpers replaced • Perimeter fence repair and repainting • Tennis and pickleball courts resurfaced, fence painted and wind screen replaced • Raised sunken sidewalks • Repair trip hazards on sidewalks • Cleaned street signs to extend the replacement timeframe • Repaired dry rot and repainted wooden pool shade structures • Repainted BBQ structures • Repaired dry rot and painted Lodge trim • Replace failed golf cart • Added solar to The Lodge • Replaced failing couplers and clamps on pool solar system • Power washed and cleaned oil stained bricks at Lodge and guardhouse • Added ADA toilets to restrooms • Replaced failing asphalt, crack-fill, re-stripe and seal coat in eight locations throughout the community • Protective cover over pool equipment • Added additional benches on World Cup and Four Seasons • Replaced treadmills • Added additional solar lights along Paseo • Replace failed battery backup for gate controller • Renewed Christmas lighting within the community As the community gets older, it becomes more important to maintain the assets within the community. The Facilities Committee monitors the life of the assets so the residents will have a well- maintained community for many years to come. Architectural Review Committee
