| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2022 | 11 Library Committee Everything in Four Seasons looks beautiful! I know that Tim had his hands in the decorating, (especially the library) and we appreciate him so much. We appreciate all the "helpers" that bring Christmas alive. The Library Committee wishes all a Happy Holiday. Our puzzles seem to procreate at night and we are over loaded with the amount there the next day. This is the time of year families get together and it's really fun to sit and work one as a group. But… we need you to slow down on the puzzle donations. They are beautiful, a healthy pasttime but we are first, a library; second, we provide puzzles for your enjoyment. Our shelves have been on the empty side and it was decided to allow duplicate books to be shelved when we have room. Normally the duplicates are kept in cabinets. Please check your books at home to see if you have some library books. Our library is an honor system library. Feel free to borrow the books but return them as soon as you can. Every two months we sponsor the "Author Talk." Jim Hitt, was our author in November. I fell in love with Jim's writing after reading the Courage of Others. His newest book, Storm Riders, was just released in August and is already up for awards. Jim writes articles for magazines and has written many books, most of them are in our library. Check them out especially if you like Westerns! We have so much talent in Four Seasons. I hope you were able to be there and enjoy him. Our hardbound fiction books are displayed from 2013 to 2022. Normally that fills those shelves. Our paperbacks are displayed from 2019-2022. Three years seems a short time but COVID seemed to spark the writer's fever! All of a sudden we had so many new books appear that we needed space to display them. Most of our committee members have been together for years. We form friendships and care about each other. One member, Rosemary Luscombe, has been with us since about 2010. For years she was our secretary and did a great job. Rosemary has had some health problems and needed to leave us. We will miss her but working with her was a blessing. Our soon to be Chairperson, Betty Crase, has a new hip and is busy doing all the right "things." We send her our wishes for a speedy recovery! ~ Cookie
