| THE COLONY NEWS | DECEMBER 2022 | 3 From the Desk of Joanne Deacon By Joanne Deacon, Vice President We all have our places or events or actions that refresh our soul, much needed in the last couple of years. My places are the beautiful beaches of Kauai and the awesome views of the ocean's waves and the mountains in Avila Beach… and the month of December. December brings the love and laughter and traditional food of family gatherings, sacred holidays, remembrance of Peace on Earth, the joy of giving – all events and actions and memories that feed our soul and prepare us for the year to come. And in The Colony, we have lots of events this time of year – the Sunshine Committee's Bake Sale and the Craft Fair, the Halloween party, pre-Thanksgiving dinner, the Men's Golf Pancake Breakfast, the Talent Show, Trim-A-Tree, the Christmas Ball, New Year's Eve Party, and the Chorus Concerts. So many opportunities to share with our neighbors. And if this month we each perform one act of kindness towards a resident, what a joyous community we will be. We cannot change the world, but we can bring the spirit of this Blessed season to The Colony. Joyous holidays to all of you. 5.5 Signs, Flags, Posters, Banners, Holiday Decorations/Lighting 5.5.5 December Holiday Season decorative lighting may only be placed, or hung, in the front yard planter areas, shrubs/ bushes, trees and tree wells and shall not interfere with the work or safety of the landscape crew.
