10 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2022 | By Kara Lukasik The holiday season is a time of reflection and it's a privilege to be involved with such a great community. We've all heard the proverb "it takes a village" and the recreation department truly appreciates all the members of our "village." I want to thank the DOG (Dog Owners Group) for being our sponsor for The Annual Halloween Pet Parade. Their contribution helped ensure that the day was a great success for all the 34 canine participates and their human companions. In addition, I want to thank the many members who made contributions to our 11th Annual Veteran's Day Walk. As of the writing of this article, our contributors were Lequita Spear and District 22. We were also fortunate to have several sponsors including the Bingo Committee, Carl and Shelly Braatz, Patricia Elevi, The Garden Club, The Bemer Group, KSLCC 97. Thank you to everyone for the generosity of your time and financial assistance that benefits our local VFW Post 233. I look forward to seeing everyone at all the exciting events planned for the holiday season and beyond.
