32 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2022 | Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers The Makua Hula Hawaiian dancers wish our Sun Lakes community a joyful holiday season. May you enjoy the Christmas season with family and friends. The Makua dancers look forward to performing our Hawaiian dances at the Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 1. It is always such a pleasure to perform at this event and we hope you are able to attend the festivities. We are also performing for District Christmas parties. District 12 is hosting a Christmas party along with other districts and Makua Hula dancers are looking forward to providing the entertainment. Makua Hula of Sun Lakes appreciates and recognizes the relentless efforts of the Pass Action Group, to "STOP THE WAREHOUSE!" We thank you all for your efforts and our monetary donation is our way of showing our support for your group. We look forward to your updates and hope all goes well at the upcoming hearing in spring 2023. Our group is available to perform for your events. If you are interested in having us perform, or want information about our group, contact Perla Williams at (951) 467-8339 or at pearlyshellsdancer@ gmail.com. The Stardust Dancers Modeling Class just might be what you are looking for! Learning to put yourself out there does wonders for your self esteem. Both men and women are encouraged to give it a try. The classes are fun and informative. You will learn to project your presence and personality to an audience. Learn to communicate with your audience without saying a word. All routines are choreographed for the group by Evelyn Hawkins, who has taught modeling for many years. She has directed many stage presentations, pageants, and fashion shows. A stage performance is a goal of the class, but you are not required to perform. It is strictly your choice. Come check it out. Most classes are held on Fridays on the stage at 3 pm. A schedule will be available for each month. For additional information or to make a reservation time, call (951) 616-4542. You can text to this number as well. Stardust Dancers Christmas and the holidays will be celebrated at the ICC Holiday Dinner and Dance on Thursday evening, Dec. 8 in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. American Made will return to provide the musical entertainment. Sign-ups for the December event will be held on Dec. 1 at the South Clubhouse beginning at 3:30 pm. Meal selection will be made at the time you sign up. The price for members is $28 and $30 for non- members. If you miss the Dec. 1 date to sign up and want to attend the dinner and dance, contact Ann Hoefert at (909) 553-3292 no later than the following Sunday afternoon. If you are unable to attend the event after signing up, you can request a take-out meal box. Contact Ann Hoefert no later than 2 pm on the day of the event at (909) 553-3292 and she will make arrangements for you to pick up your meal in the Bus Room at 6:15 pm on the night of the event. Membership is $25 per person per calendar year. A try-before- you-buy opportunity is available for Sun Lakes residents who have not been members in the past. Previous members do not qualify for this try-before-you-buy opportunity. Memberships for 2023 are now due and must be paid before the first event in January 2023.
