FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2022 25 Finance Committee Each member of the Finance Committee works very hard to keep our community in the top tier of well-run beautiful communities. David Sweet was an integral part of our committee and worked diligently to improve our contracts for finding the best vendors to complete maintenance of our community. He was a kind, caring, gracious person, and we all enjoyed our time working with him. We will all miss him very much. During the Finance Committee's regular monthly meeting in October, the financial statements for September 2022 were reviewed and recommended for Board approval. In addition, the Committee reviewed nine expenditure proposals, and reviewed investment recommendations to move maturing investments to higher yield FDIC insured instruments. Highlights of the September financial statements are: Total Cash is $11,518,479 including operating cash of $2,131,864 (checking and CDs) and reserve assets of $9,386,615. We are at a total year-to-date net income of $59,104. Homeowners are welcome to join us at the Finance Committee's regularly scheduled monthly meetings held on the last Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 1 pm. I would encourage all residents to become more familiar with the finances of our fantastic community. We would love to hear about your concerns and encourage you to share them with us. Attending a meeting only takes a little time and will give you a better understanding of how we operate. Come and join us in making this a thriving vibrant community. Please check your Daily Report for meeting location. ~ Jolene Cooley, joleneaudit@gmail.com Safety Committee SAFETY 4 "ALL" SEASONS We would love to have you join our committee! If you're interested in helping to make Four Seasons a safer community, please consider joining the Safety Committee. No prior safety experience is required, only a desire to contribute to the enhancement of our neighborhood. Yes, you can make a difference! HOME HOLIDAY SAFETY: Many people are gone from their homes during the holidays. The following are some hints to keep burglars from "helping themselves" at your home when you are gone for an evening or an extended period of time. • Keep valuables and gifts out of sight. • Always lock all doors and all windows. • Turn on outside lights. Trim back shrubs and bushes to make the front of your house more visible from the street. • Cut up cartons for televisions, computers, stereos, or other "high priced" gifts. Tie the pieces together with identifying labels on the inside before putting them out for trash pickup. • Have inside lights and a radio or television on timers. • Stop all mail, package, and newspaper deliveries or arrange for a trusted neighbor to pick them up daily. • Inform someone where you are and when you will return. • When returning home, have your keys in hand to quickly unlock the door. • If you suspect someone has been in the house, leave immediately and call 911 from a mobile phone or from a neighbor's house. As a reminder, Safety Committee meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 10 am in the RCN Conference Room. We encourage you to join the meeting should you have any concerns or if you would simply like an update on our ongoing safety projects. All the best. ~ Frank Hilberg, hilberg frank@gmail.com
