| LIFE IN SOLERA | JANUARY 2023 | 7
The Design Review Committee's (DRC) purpose is defined in
the Solera Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs). Five
volunteer homeowners, who care about the aesthetic value of the
community, make up the DRC committee. The DRC does not want
to take an adversarial role with any homeowner, but rather assist in
maintaining and protecting the neighborhood we have all come to
love and call home.
The common appeal of our community relies on the CC&Rs set
in place by our HOA from the first groundbreaking. Solera already
has these guidelines in place; the DRC's job is to make sure those
guidelines are followed. The DRC wants to help preserve and grow
the value of your home and neighborhood while letting you express
yourself through landscaping and exterior modifications. Residents
are required to submit, for approval, any modification projects to the
exterior of their home. Based on the type of improvement, detailed
information could include diagrams, location, photos, size, shape,
color, dimensions, or materials being used. The more detailed, the
better the DRC can assess your application. The DRC reviews each
submission to ensure consistency and continuity with the DRC
Guidelines. This process is worth your time and effort!
Homeowners who take pride in the community have put forth the
effort to maintain their home. Attractive neighborhoods show well.
Prospective homeowners look at the aesthetics of the community
when looking to purchase a home in Solera. Homeowners definitely
have an easier time selling their home in an attractive, meticulously
well-kept community. Homes sell quicker and at a higher price than
homes that are not in an HOA community. The DRC strives to have a
collaborative effort with all homeowners to maintain the community
vision and protect property values.
