| LIFE IN SOLERA | JANUARY 2023 | 31 "Giving is a booster for your sense of well-being. It gets the focus away from what you don't have and onto what you do." The New Year of 2023 is beckoning us to make a difference in our lives, in our Solera community, and our community at large. If you are someone who believes in putting "Sunshine" back in the lives of others, we would love to have you join our Club. When a resident is ill, we send cards to cheer them up. For an overnight hospital stay or a death in the immediate family, we deliver flowers or fruit baskets. The funds we reap from our recycling efforts pay for these gifts. Our recycling efforts continue as usual. We accept all plastic water, juice and tea drink bottles with caps removed and labels securely attached to their containers, as well as all aluminum cans (for which you paid the redemption fee). Each recyclable item must be clearly imprinted on its label or side with the words CA-CRV or CA CASH REFUND. Please be aware that plastic containers such as milk, 100% juices, Clorox, peanuts, coffee and mouthwash as well as metal cans other than aluminum for which you have not paid the CRV fee are not recyclable and should be put in your appropriate Waste Management cans. If you have any questions about our club or its activities, please contact Judy Charlick at (951) 769-6465. Our Club meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 2:00 p.m. in the Arts & Crafts Room. SUNSHINE CLUB Sunshine Helpers Needed! Chronic illnesses, hospitalization, and/or death can hit people hard. If you have a friend or neighbor here in Solera who needs a spark of sunshine, let members of the Sunshine Club know. For your convenience, the yellow Sunshine Box is located on the table in the Mail Room where you can drop off the information for a resident or residents who are sick or have experienced a death in the family. Sometimes just a card or telephone call will brighten someone's day immensely. Please come join us for a fun free- form fitness group. Great music and fun socializing while getting fit. We play many genres of music. Everything is at your own pace and there is no formal instructor. Join us every Sunday from 11 am to noon in Oakmont Room. Bring water and socks if preferred. Contact Mari Rezinas at (909) 848-0754 with any questions. Hope to see you! FITNESS TO MUSIC Fitness to Music group. Submitted by Mari Rezinas
