Comedy night Saturday, Jan. 21 Scott Wood, a stand-up comedian and impressionist known as Mr. Punchline, keeps audiences rolling in the aisles with a rapid-fire delivery of one- liners (more than eight jokes per minute) and a heart for clean comedy. Scott has been a full-time comedian for nearly 20 years at clubs, colleges, churches, and with television appearances. He was recently named Stand-Up Comedy Champion after winning the Improv Comedy Club's talent search for funniest comedian. There will be cabaret style seating, and tables of eight may be purchased with individual checks. Social hour starts at 6:30 pm, followed by the show at 7 pm. Tickets are $10. Four legendary singers will be performed by amazingly talented tribute artists. Experience the music of 19-times Grammy Award winner Tony Bennett alongside his longtime friend and duet partner, Lady Gaga. You will also be treated to songs paying homage to legendary actress and singer Barbra Streisand, whose career has spanned over 60 years. Finally, enjoy a spectacular performance of songs originally sung by the iconic Whitney Houston. Social hour is 6:30 pm, and showtime is 7 to 8:30 pm. BYOB and snacks. Here's your chance to shred and get rid of all those personal documents you no longer need. An industrial-size shredder will be available in the Clubhouse parking lot between 9 am and 12 pm, and it certainly is the easiest way to get rid of all that paper. ITALIAN LANGUAGE CLASS: My name is Ornella Atwell. I started an Italian Language class on Nov. 9. The class is every Wednesday from 11 am to 12 noon in the Card Room. This class is FREE! Anyone interested may still join us. The class will resume Wednesday, Jan. 11. The class is open and has no prerequisites. PEARL: If you attended The Colony Talent Show in October, you may remember the dance group, Pearl, which performed a Chinese folk dance. This group is choreographed by Lulu Scott, and she is looking for performers for next year's talent show. Would you be interested in joining? The group meets every Tuesday morning in the Auditorium. Harold has five members so far and the owner of a local coin shop is scheduled to speak at the first meeting.
