Speaking of our New Year… we have our dates set for 2023 performances, planned for March, June, and October. Stay tuned for details of our March performance coming soon! In this month's article, we are pleased to showcase our illustrious and long-time Club member, Chuck Sims. On a personal note, I met Chuck on our tennis courts many moons ago – 2007, I think. He's a great tennis player and I consider him a great friend. He's also been one of several Players Club members to whom I am so grateful for mentoring me in my Newbie role as Club President. Chuck's passion and commitment also serves to drive our club's goal of enjoying PRODUCTIVE and FUN meetings, while sharing and learning from one another along the way. We are very lucky to have him. Now… on to Chuck's Bio: It was 2008 and Chuck retired as scientist, researcher, and businessman. The next move was to Hemet Four Seasons. There were so many activities. He took advantage by playing sports and being of service to the community. After giving committee reports to the Board of Directors, Chrissy Pounders invited him to check out our theatre group. The theatre bug was reawakened. The bug first started when he was six. He played a saguaro cactus. But, hey, it was a speaking part. He was active all through high school and college. Then worked for living. Since reawakening (2016), he has participated in several productions here and contributed to the group by developing a Vision and Mission document, providing acting lesson material, and directing at least four performances. In addition, every year since, he has starred or been a supporting actor in at least three of our shows. He has accepted lead and supporting actor parts at Riverside Community Theatre, Downtown Temecula, as well as six shows for the Ramona Hillside Players. REMEMBER: We are always looking for new members or even just curious guests to stop in at our meetings. Club meetings are held the third Friday of each month at 1 pm in the Ballroom.
