OHCC PLC Second Annual Fundraiser For "Presents For Pets"
For Meals On Wheels Animeals Clients
Thank you to the wonderful generosity of OHCC residents, we
were able to fill the "wish lists" for dogs and cats of Wheels clients
who get pet food from the Helen Woodward Animal Center Animeals
Program for 37 clients, (up from 13 last year.) Some clients had more
than one pet, and we were able to fill wishes for 30 dogs and 31 cats.

Even though she does not currently have a pet, she has helped
seniors at our San Marcos Meals on Wheels site, and when she found
out about Presents for Pets, she joined and jumped right in to help.
She organized and numbered and labeled bags for each client and
included a personal note in each from "your fellow pets' lovers at
OHCC."
All three women then filled the bags with each client's requests; for
those items not donated, Ellen and Karen went shopping with funds
from the donated checks. After the bags were filled, leftover items
were donated to Second Chance Dog Rescue in San Diego (one of the
staff lives here in OHCC), and cat donations to Dirty Little Paws in
Oceanside. We also had some dog food and treats and poop bags
which we donated to OHCC Nubees for their collection for pets of
the homeless through Brother Benno's. Checks made out to Helen
Woodward were sent to them to support the Animeals program.
