| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2023 | 27 Karaoke Group Hope everyone is ready for the fun times ahead at our Sun Lakes Goodtimes Karaoke for the new year. You can dance, sing and eat at our events,(of course you'll bring your own food) but the dancing and singing are free. If you've never been to our karaoke shows maybe you should try us out. Making new friends is always possible and even if you don't sing, you may find that it's a lot of fun just watching. This month we will be in the South Clubhouse on Fri., Jan. 27 starting at around 5:30 or 6 pm, depending on the availability of the Clubhouse. We always make an effort to disinfect our microphones after each person sings. We have wiped our microphones clean long before COVID ever came along. Our Karaoke song library spans from the 1940s through the 90s and we even include some of today's karaoke selections. So why not make 2023 the year you try your voice out at our Sun Lakes Goodtimes Karaoke Shows With Barb Miller, Rosie Ingalls, and D.J. Blast. If you have any questions about our karaoke shows and schedules, call Rosie Ingalls at (951) 769-2645. REMINDER: Our January gathering is Jan. 7 featuring the duo of Lee and Mike Stone, Tin Man's Heart, for those who have signed up and paid. Our December get together featured the duo of Lori Battaglia-Bell and Lisa Rose. They had each performed for us individually and now they have combined their talents for an even better sound and variety. They focused on Christmas songs but also included some Motown and also some popular Rock 'n Roll. Some of their songs included Crazy Little Thing Called Love, What's Goin' On, along with some Al Green. We got some duets but also some individual performances and, of course, Karen Carpenter (with Lisa singing). I see some big things for this duo, they were stupendous. Thank you, ladies! Come join or just visit our monthly gathering to socialize, enjoy a catered meal, first rate entertainment and to be pampered. It is for 80 year olds and better along with their spouses or significant others and/or guests (no matter their ages). But you're welcome if you're close in age as well. We do have people joining before their 80th birthdays… I promise, I don't check your ID and we welcome you! You can attend once without joining to actually give us a try first. We do have a good time. The February gathering will be on Sat., Feb. 4 and our performers will be Generation! Yes, you heard it right! This will be their first performance for the 80s Club and we can't wait to have them. The deadline for that one is Jan. 28. I suspect this one might sell out, so get your checks in early. It will be at 3pm in the South Clubhouse so don't forget to get your checks to Donna Harrington at 5393 Riviera. Please make your checks out to 80s Plus Club, dinners are $16 each and our dues are $10 per year. If you haven't paid your annual dues yet, they are now due. 80s Plus Club
