8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2023 | On Dec. 15, more than 160 people gathered for the Holiday Luncheon. Sixteen hostesses decorated their own version of a holiday vision and had a delicious lunch provided by the Bistro. It was a successful event and raised more than $3,000 to benefit My City Youth Center in Hemet. Dan and Becky Harris, co-founders of My City Youth, gave us a presentation of their program for the youth of Hemet. Truly heroes of Hemet, this program was established in 1997, 25 years ago. Many thanks to all that donated to this great organization. Four Seasons New Year's Eve Party commenced with The Silver Screen Crooners serenading to the party goers with songs like Kiss me Kate, Pretty Woman, Some Enchanted Evening, On a Clear Day, and others. It was so entertaining. At midnight, black and silver balloons fell onto the black and white checkerboard dance floor as the Lifetime Rocker Band played and we sang Auld Lang Syne. The Ballroom was transformed into a magical venue of diffused lights, sheer drapes, ceilings lowered with decorated chandeliers, and centerpieces that reached for the ceiling. The decorated tables included all the implements and glassware, but I am still looking for the oyster fork. The Bistro presented a delightful dinner of choice. It was beautifully done. Our thanks and congratulations to chairperson Margie Culton and the planning of Patti Jones. They literally spent months putting this event together. Many others volunteered to decorate the Ballroom, set the tables, stage setup (Roy and Karen Brennon, Greg Wisniewski, Dave Starr, Jimmie Domingo, Zoomie, and Dan Ramos) but a special acknowledgment goes to Mike Yeager, the creator of the centerpieces, Linda Elliott, the do-it-all and next year's co-chairperson, and Carol, Judy, and Regina for the inviting dessert bar. (This dessert buffet was a big hit before the program, during dinner, after dinner, way after dinner, and post-midnight. Yum! I am still looking for a kiss…Hershey that is!) An outstanding event to bring in the new year, a time to renew and refresh! Social Committee Holiday Luncheon New Year's Celebration
