| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2023 | 11 Library Committee It takes a village to keep our beautiful library up and running. We want to start the new year with a big shout out and thank you to all those who are presently serving or have served on the Library Committee. Not only do we shelve all the returned books, keep them current as per our copyright expiration dates; hardbacks 2013 to present and paperbacks 2018 to present, put away magazines and keep monthly magazines for three months and weekly for one month from publication date, we also organize and shelve puzzles and keep our audio books neat and orderly. In addition, we find writers within our community or the local area to speak at our library talks. Occasionally after a meeting we cull both hardback and paperback books in our library and check copyright dates. When we find books that are prior to our current copyright date of 2013 and 2018 we take and donate them to the Friends of the Library at the Hemet Public Library or Angel View, etc. The library is a busy place! On a more serious note, we would like to recognize a shining star — Cookie Scott. She has been our current chairperson since the library was first organized and longest serving member on the Library Committee. Over the years, her input into the setup and structuring of the library has been visionary and simply invaluable. In addition, she has written our monthly newsletters almost singlehandedly; they have always been interesting and informative. Her husband Scottie, has been an inspiration to our members for his commitment in assisting our committee whenever and wherever necessary. Thank you, Cookie and Scottie, for your continuous service to our library and community in so many ways. Cookie, you always will be considered a gift to our Four Seasons Library. Wishing all a Happy Valentine's Day! And don't forget there are lots of books in our library with romantic twists and turns, especially in the paperback section. Our library has something for everyone. We look forward to welcoming YOU soon and hoping you find that perfect read!
