| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2023 | 15 Happy Valentine's Day to all of our Romanticists out there! Late Bloomers certainly knows how to plant, water, and cultivate this special holiday. For the second year in a row we will be celebrating together with a Chocolate Party & Lunch on Tues., Feb. 14 at 1 pm. This year we will head to Emilio's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, located at 2340 S. San Jacinto Avenue in San Jacinto, armed with enough chocolate to share and the festive attitude of 'everything blooms in Red Hearts this time of year." Curious about who we are and what we do as a Club? Come join us and see how much fun we have just blooming where we're planted! Our final trip of 2022 ended among a million twinkling lights on Dec. 16 at the Lavender Fields in Cherry Valley for their annual Festival of Lights. Feeling as if we were in a life size Snow Globe, these few pictures don't do the magical atmosphere justice, but experiencing these fields at night, and at Christmas, will definitely become an annual event for us. Our regular meeting will be Mon., Feb. 13 in the Arts & Crafts Room, beginning at 1 pm where we will finish designing and embellishing our personalized name tags for everyone not able to make this fun event in January's meeting. We will continue discussing our 2023 plans, fun trips and informative schedules for Master Gardener seminars, Nursery visits, and everything Green Thumb oriented! Sharing gardening tips, traveling together, learning from each other, and cultivating forever friendships are the blooms growing in our gardens. Late Bloomers meets every second Monday of the month at 1 pm, usually followed by an excursion planned later in the month. All residents are welcome to attend meetings and trips. Thank you for all the wonderfully decorated participating carts and to the residents who came out to applaud their effort. Dave Cometa lead the parade and gave Santa a ride. As always thanks to Tracie Rodgers for her support. I would get a poke in the nose if I didn't mention Donna McLaughlin who put up those wonderful outside decorations in front of The Lodge and passed out egg nog. Tim Gross, the Four Seasons handy man, was a big help. Flag Angels: One flag posting took place on Dec. 7, Pearl Harbor Day, along Four Seasons and World Cup. The flags are posted for eight of the federal holidays throughout the community and for three special days (Flag Day, Patriots Day and Pearl Harbor Day) along Four Seasons and World Cup. The Flag Angels provide a very popular community service. Many of the Angels have been at it for years; others just joined this year. Full Time Angels: Ginny Cole-Weaver and Karen Stevens, John and Sandy O'Connor, Dave and Char Weakley, Toni Harris, Chuck and Jean Farr, Irene Chapman, Cheryle and Ron Dewberry, Tom and Bonnie Moore, Ed and Maggie Coleman, Bob and Melissa Beebee, Glenn and Mary Uhley, Addis and Cookie Scott, Bill and Mary Swinney. Super Substitutes: Hank and Michele Schultz, Cheryle Patterson, Carrie and Jay Craney. An additional thank you to Tim and Joan Polder who helped out Irene Chapman for Veterans Day.
