26 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2023 | Our Shuffleboard Awards Potluck was held on Jan. 5 and approximately 30 people attended to celebrate our winners and our first year back after COVID shut us down. Even the heavy rains didn't chase us away. Sadly the cold/flu season kept some away. Congratulations again to our winners: First Place, Mike Garrett and Jim Gates; Runner-ups Maggie Fussell and Donna Morrell. Our chefs out did themselves. Thank you to all who participated. I can't end the season without giving a big THANK YOU to Bobbie Davis, my co, who kept me on the straight and narrow, Orville Ellingworth, our scheduler, Dave Scott and Bob Fussell, court maintainers, John O'Connor, set-up, Sandi O'Connor, treasurer and our decorating and serving Rusty and Cora Quindoza, Barry and Remi Wilson. A FANTASTIC committee who made my job a lot easier. Looking forward to seeing you all and many more at our sign ups in August. You don't need any prior experience. It is an easy game to quickly learn. Our goal is to have fun and meet some new friends. As always you can always join a few of us who play on Monday and Friday at 9 am, weather permitting. Also, you can check out shuffleboard equipment anytime, just check out the procedure at the front desk. Happy Valentine's Day to all. ~ Toni Harris, (951) 325-8357 Shuffleboard Pickleball Morning Pickleball: Come join the fun! We play on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We know you'll have as much fun as we do. Evening Only - Pickleball Club: We play on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5 to 8 pm. We invite anyone who would like to play Pickleball to come out. We know you will have as much fun as we all do. Players of all skill levels are welcome! We don't just love playing Pickleball; our group also gets together once a month on a Sunday at The Lodge Game Room. We each bring something to eat and play the game of Sequence. This game is a card and board game: lots of fun, and even better, there's a lot of laughing going on! Tennis is thriving at Four Seasons Hemet, with the courts being used most mornings. Mondays and Fridays see a preponderance of ladies, however any gentlemen wishing to play are welcome and there are some regulars. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the preponderance is gentlemen, however a few ladies play too! The bottom line is, if you have been thinking about playing, PLEASE JOIN IN on whichever day(s) fit your schedule. Of course, the courts are available whenever The Lodge is open, and there are lights for nighttime play. There is a ball machine for folks to practice with. Let The Lodge attendant know a day ahead if you would like to use the ball machine, and they will ensure it is charged and will bring it to the court for you. Our weather provides near perfect conditions year round. Come hone your skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of Four Seasons tennis! Tennis Club We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. There is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at different locations around Hemet. We practice Saturdays at 8 am. Horseshoes We play on Wednesday morning and afternoon.
