NEW CLUB! 28 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2023 | Billiards Join us every Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 pm for friendly play. Our Four Seasons Hemet Valley Interpark Pool League practices will be Tuesday morning from 9 am to noon. If you have any questions, please call Art Martel at (909) 973-8208. Bocce Sign Up: On Sun., Feb. 5 is the last reminder to sign up for the 2023 Bocce Season in The Lodge Ballroom at 2 pm. I would like to encourage our young and newer residents that Bocce is an activity designed for residents that still work and cannot participate in the Monday thru Friday Club Activities. For the most part, Bocce has always been scheduled to meet and play on Sunday afternoon so that those still working have a chance to get involved in group sport activities. Depending on the number of teams that sign up, we schedule the first group of teams to start at 2 pm Sunday afternoon. We also keep in mind that some of our residents attend services on Sunday mornings and the 2 pm start time has worked for many bocce seasons. If you are interested in signing up again this year, I would like all teams to attend the meeting if possible even though you are a returning team. We plan to assign certain setup needs for the season and your help will be very much needed this year. There will be no other meetings planned through the Bocce Season except for the Banquet and a possible BBQ planned on an off Sunday. Hope to see those teams that played last year and new teams organized for this season that missed out last year. If you have questions about Bocce, please feel free to call me at the number listed below this article. Thank you in advance for participating. Info, Bocce Chairperson, Ross Brunetto, (951) 926-8295. Bocce Bid Whist PLUS Social Club PAWS It was a miserable rainy morning in January but we had almost 30 attendees at our meeting. We have a lot of pet lovers and owners in this great community. We had a presentation from Technique Unique Pet Services with a lot of valuable information. One great service they offer is a community service day. For more info, contact Karen (760) 519-3449. We also discussed the positive things our pets provide us, companionship, comfort, security and lots of love. A discussion was had to remind people to pick up after their pets, and take the cute little bags home with them. Many occasions happen when the responsible people have picked up someone else's little bags. Thank you. Next meeting is Thurs., Feb. 2. "No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversations as much as your dog or cat does." Don't miss Jason Weber! Sat., March 18, 2 to 6:30 pm at the Ballroom. BYOB. We will be featuring Live Jazz Set with Saxophonist, Jason Weber and 80'- 90s R&B music playlist from DJ Doc, Thomas Howard. Jason Weber is a veteran of the Southern California music scene who has been playing the saxophone for over 30 years; 20+ as a full time professional. Originally hailing from the Chicago area, Jason has eight CDs under his belt as well as numerous guest appearances on other artists' recordings. One of the busiest musicians around, Weber performs an average of 300 shows per year with his own group as well as free-lancing with a number of other artists and bands. General ticket sales at The Lodge will start on Wed., Feb. 15, 8 am for $15 pp. We meet the first Friday of every month from 2 to 5:30 pm in The Lodge Game Room. We are a welcoming, diverse, and friendly social group who enjoy playing a variety of card and board games, great food, and good times. No experience necessary. We will teach any novice, and you'll catch on fast. While the majority of current members primarily play a card game known as Bid Whist, we encourage all our participants to explore their preferences for other table games as they are inclined. You will have fun, enjoy good company and great food (potluck). If you just want to talk, eat, and catch up on the goings on, that's very much okay too. So, what's your pleasure: Bones/Dominoes, Bridge, Spades, Uno, Backgammon, Checkers, Cribbage? Regardless of your experience level, please join us for an afternoon of exciting and spirit lifting camaraderie. For info, call or text Donny Brown at (619) 395-7494 or Maurice Bernard Brown at (619) 750-5839.
