Farewell to Four Seasons Friends
70 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2023
Harold Raymond Welker, beloved brother of six siblings and husband of
Kirk Freyermuth was born in Detroit, Michigan, the first child of Joseph and Ariel Welker.
In 1959, he moved to California and served his country in both the U.S. Navy and Marines.
After his discharge, we went to work at UCLA Medical Center, rising the position of day shift
supervisor in the Respiratory Therapy department. He and his husband lived for over 50
years in the San Fernando Valley before moving to Beaumont in August 2018, following his
sister Irene Welker. He passed on 05 November here at Four Seasons Beaumont after a short
illness at age 83. Another of his sisters, Joni Truelsen, was with him at his passing. He was
passionate about films and theatre, particularly Broadway musicals. He is mourned by all
who knew him here as he was always outgoing.
