The holidays are back in the storage boxes, and it's time to get back
to what's important… crafting!
Our schedule for free classes is exciting this year! Thanks to Terry
Chamberlin, our energetic program coordinator, February brings
us two classes/workshops! The third Thurs., Feb. 16 there will be a
lesson in how to make the Christmas stockings that are sent to the
Camp Pendleton and San Pasqual Academy kids every year. We begin
this process early in the year so that it is not a major undertaking to
supply the 300 or so stockings necessary to bring a smile to everyone's
faces by holiday time.
On the third Saturday, Feb. 18, Sharon Kleven will be showing us
how to make the birthday place mat shown in the photos. It is an easy
project and could even be considered a basic "quilting" class. The
supplies necessary are inexpensive and can be found at a local fabric
store.
As always, the Kneedlers and Hookers gather on Tuesdays from
3:15 to 4:30 pm, where you can pick up a new skill, share, or visit.
Also, on Tuesday evenings (6 to 8 pm) and Fridays (12 to 3 pm)
several quilters, knitters, crocheters and sewers get together for "Sew
& Chats." Both of these gatherings are loosely structured and help to
keep us in touch.
If you are interested in participating in our activities and are not
sure who to reach out to for further information, please call Karen
Lohr (760) 707-9398, or MaryLu Belisle (952) 454-1931 for more
information. Also, please visit our website http://ohccsewing.
