FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2023 37
Four Seasons Veterans Park
March is a month of significant military days. The 3rd is the Navy Reserve
birthday. Saturday the 4th is National Hug A G.I. Day — this requires a lot
of practice, so start early. The 13th is K9 Veterans Day — they deserve hugs
also. On the 25th we honor Medal of Honor heroes. The 29th is the most
encompassing day at Four Seasons Beaumont — National Vietnam War
Veterans Day.
For our generation here at this 55+ community, we were the last of the
drafted warriors. The war and the draft were terminated in 1973. We answered
our country's call, albeit not very willingly. But, our parents generation had
done the same and we were fortunate to grow up in the world they left us.
The Four Seasons Veterans Club is slowly forming. We now have two of the
three officers needed to legally become established. As mentioned above, we
are not a generation of volunteers. Yet, we remain optimistic. Please join us the
last Thursday of each month 11:30 am in the Game Room. ~ Len Tavernetti,

The next Garden Club free event is Saturday, March 18 at 10 am. Check
the Activities Blast for the topic.
On May 20, we will host a home garden tour so that you can visit and
experience all sizes and types of successful gardens by your Four Seasons
neighbors. Tickets are only $5 and each home will have an ambassador on
hand to share highlights of each garden. Thank you to Mona Swinehart
for chairing this sub-committee and thank you to our members who
volunteered to help organize this event: Bonnie Makela, Diane Gray, Karen
Evans, Margi Spies, Nancy Justice, Pam Morales, Patti Pitts, and Patti Stone.
