ART CHALLENGE: USING COMPLEMENTARY COLORS
The next several Mixed Media Art Breeze articles will show the results of
a challenge I gave to both classes to create art using complementary color
pairings.
Each set of colors are opposite one another on the color wheel, ie: red and
green, violet and yellow, blue and orange. Remember learning about ROYGBV (a mnemonic
(an aid in remembering) back in high school?
This beautiful and vibrant triptych (three pieces of art that are the same size and belong
together in a single theme) is titled "Women Warriors" by Laurie Wolfenden.
Laurie said, " I wanted to show the wisdom and strength of women and to represent them
from different corners of the world."
Classes are Mondays from 10 am to 12 noon and/or Wednesdays from 6 to 8 pm. There is
