March is named for Mars, the Roman god of war. Did
you know that in early Roman days, March was actually the
first month of the calendar? As March brings the first day
of spring (March 20) it's the start of new beginnings. It
is also known for Woman's History Month, National Craft
Month, St. Patrick's Day and oh, it's my birthday month!
Something different is always fun, so this month we will
be making shaped cards and fancy folds. I design, cut, do
most of the stamping, and put everything into individual
kits. You can come to class or just purchase a kit. My kits
are complete with step-by-step instructions and loads of
pictures.
March dates are March 2 and March 16 for our regular
three-card classes and on March 30 we will be learning the technique called "Iris Folding." Check it out
online. If this is your first time, the cost is still only $10. We meet in the Arts & Crafts Room starting
at 1 pm. I am taking sign-ups for my all-day Spring Fling Card Art class being held on Sat., April 22 in
Oakmont 1 and 2. Applications are in the Mail Room.
Please bring a fast-drying white glue (I like Tombow) and a small sharp scissors. If you don't know
where to buy Tombow glue don't worry, I will have a supply on hand to purchase for $3.50. I buy
in bulk to give you the lowest price possible. Also, if this is your first time, please send an email to
