The new DRC Guidelines are on the Solera website. There are some new items and many original items. One of the new items is part of Front Yard Decorative Items (5.12). Any combination of items, metal or wall décor, seasonal flags, and/or pots and planters and bird feeders, as stated below cannot exceed a total number of 10. Any decorative items over 36 inches need to be submitted to the Design Review Committee for approval. The total number of 10 is what is new. Check out your front yard, if you have many decorative items, see if you comply. If you need to remove some items, please do so. (5.12 # 3) Pots and planters placed within the front yard areas shall be constructed of decorative pottery, metal or weatherproof plastic and are limited to six pots and/or planters. Pots with plantings on either side of the garage doors shall not exceed six feet in overall height. Pots or planters with plantings, shall not exceed the overall plant height restriction of the area of placement. An old item is in Trees (6.4). To provide for vehicular and pedestrian traffic safety, no tree overhang, shrubs, planters, pots, walls of any kind shall be greater than 36 inches tall and 10 feet from the front property line at the curb. Corner Lots shall be maintained to allow a clear line-of-sight from the stop sign in both directions of oncoming traffic. There are some corners in which it is difficult to see, unless one pulls into the street to see both ways. Similar to this is contained in Softscape Materials (6.6), second paragraph. When the front yard softscape plant material has a variety in height, the maximum height of any species generally should not be more than 36 inches … Try to keep your plants trimmed accordingly. Design Review Committee Communication & Technology Advisory Committee (CTAC) The Solera Oak Valley Greens Board of Directors created the Communications & Technology Advisory Committee (CTAC) to research, develop, and improve existing and new communication methods for the community. To accomplish our goals, we are looking to modify current communication methods, if needed, as well as institute "state of the art" technological solutions in an effort to keep all residents informed. Please note…in order to reach our goals, it is important that residents provide us feedback, comments, and concerns as well as completed surveys when asked. We want to hear from you! Here are some of the exciting projects that the CTAC is currently working on: 1. Constant Contact: a program that allows for distribution of informational emails and texts to all residents. a. You must submit a "Stay Connected" form to let us know whether you opt in or opt out. A link to the form can be found in the weekly email b. Email i. This process is up and running. Management is using it to send our weekly community email c. Texting i. This process is under development. If you haven't submitted your "Stay Connected" form, please do so ASAP ii. Texting is to notify residents of urgent issues i.e. gates not working, event cancellations, etc., not for routine information. 2. Bright Sign: Board-approved software and hardware project that allows community information to be displayed on televisions around the Clubhouse a. Televisions and Bright Sign controller boxes will be installed by vendor One Workplace. b. TV locations – Fitness Center, Living Room, Clubhouse hallway near the kitchen, and the Mailroom 3. We are also bouncing around other project ideas: a. New literature racks for the mailroom, changes/ improvements to Life in Solera, possible new website for Solera For additional information on the Committee, go to www. SoleraCTAC.com or join us at one of our meetings held on the first and third Monday of each month starting at 10am in Oakmont III. You are welcome to attend. Also, you can go to the new "Committee Minutes" link on the Solera Website to peruse minutes from CTAC meetings.
