Young at Heart Wow, did we have some great chili for our NFL Chili Cook-Off in January at Finesse Lounge (picture above). This is a quaint lounge that serves food and drinks in downtown Banning. The lounge has five TVs, a pool table, and darts; 47 members attended this fun event. Seven chilis were entered and three of the employees of Finesse Lounge were the judges. First place went to Jim Jensen, second place went to Connie Kelly Wood, and third place went to Steve Schwartz. Young at Heart provided 10 door prizes and Finesse Lounge donated two door prizes. Everyone was given a door prize ticket upon entering the lounge. After the judges tasted these amazing chilis, each person was able to taste them as well. What a fun time for all! On March 11 at 6 pm we will be going to see the Coachella Valley Firebirds Ice Hockey Game at Acrisure Arena at 75702 Varner Road, Palm Desert. Cost is $19 per person. As always, Thomas Catering helps us celebrate St. Paddy's day with a mouth-watering dinner of corned beef and cabbage, roasted red potatoes, green salad, key lime pie, and lemon meringue pie for dessert. You don't want to miss this. We are introducing Lori Bell and Lisa Rose, two fantastic singers. Lisa Rose has performed as Karen Carpenter in tribute bands. Dues are $15 per year. Dinners are $20. Guests living outside of Sun Lakes and are friends of a resident will be $24 per person. If you live in Sun Lakes you may come as a guest one time only, and then you WILL WANT to join the club. You may also put your checks in the basket on the back table at the meeting. We have open seating so you may sit wherever you like. Elvis has all the pomp and pompadour one would expect in putting Elvis Presley's iconic life on the screen. Academy Award nominee and critically acclaimed 31-year-old actor, Austin Butler, portrays Elvis and Tom Hanks is Colonel Tom Parker. You don't want to miss the fantastic acting of these two.
