62 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2023 | Couples Golf This winter golf season has been a bit of a challenge with the much needed rain, sleet, and snow! The Sun Lakes Couples Golf Club missed a few outings, mostly because it's been so darned COLD! "The sun did not shine. It was too wet to play. So we sat in the house. All that cold, cold, wet day." Dr. Seuss. As we began to miss each other something terrible, we realized that, "Love keeps the cold out better than a cloak." So we layered on our clothes, bundled up our bodies and ventured out into what seemed like the Siberian tundra. Yes, dramatic but to appreciate the beauty of a snowflake it is necessary to stand out in the cold. Congratulations to the Jan. 8 winners: First place - Jim Close, Joyce Close, Kris Terrell, Pam D'arca. Second place - Chuck Glenn, Joan Glenn, Gary Little, Sherri Little. Congratulations to Jan. 22 first place winners - Bob Messier, Marcy Tierney, Pam D'arca, and Kris Terrell. Second place - Jim Close, Joyce Close, John Mursa, Joshua Mursa. The groundhog says there will be six more weeks of cold weather. "Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart." Victor Hugo. The first ever Sun Lakes Couples golf Club Member-Guest Tournament will be held in April. Details to follow.
